Homecoming!

Well the first two weeks have come and gone. It’s great to return to Africa, although we obviously miss our friends and family very much indeed.

As you can imagine, we have had an interesting time already, both at home and at work.

Firstly, a massive “well done” to my children, who were so well behaved on the plane. They sat so still for close to nine hours, thanks largely to a combination of Peppa Pig, Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Muppets. They have been fairly hyper since but are beginning to settle into a different way of life.  As parents, our first concern is obviously for our children so, on a very selfish note, please could you continue to pray for our children. This week they start a new nursery / school and whilst they have coped exceptionally well with such a huge transition and this is yet another test.

Secondly, our house is lovely and we feel very blessed to be living where we are, particularly when you look around Nairobi. However, we have had a few issues with water and electricity.  We have spent a few days without any running water, a couple of evenings with power, the washing machine has packed in and we have a lovely hole in the ceiling thanks to the plumber size 9s!  However, somehow there seems much more perspective about the every day issues here and you just get on with what you have.

Nice to be back!
